People needed: Whole team

Purpose: To increase fitness levels and build muscles critical to rugby injury prevention

Directions:

1. Set up cones 15-20 meters apart, with one cone in the middle to designate the halfway mark.

2. Players should line up on one end.

3. Players should JOG to the other end and back. Allow for a 10-second break.

4. Players should JOG to the end and RUN at 75% speed back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break, and repeat.

5. Players should RUN at 75% speed to the end, and then SPRINT back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat.

6. Players should SPRINT to the end, and then SPRINT back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat.

7. Players should JOG BACKWARDS to the end and back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

8. Players should WALK ON THEIR TOES from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

9. Players should WALK ON THEIR TOES BACKWARDS from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

10. Players should LUNGE from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

11. Players should HOP ON THEIR RIGHT FOOT from the starting line to the half-way mark. When they reach the half-way mark, players should HOP ON THEIR LEFT FOOT. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

12. Players should JUMP (jump off of two feet, land on two feet) from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

13. Players should SKIP from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

14. Players should POWER SKIP (skipping for height) from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

15. Players should KICK THEIR BUTTS (aim for lots of reps) from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

16. Players should RUN WITH HIGH KNEES (aim for lots of reps) from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

17. Players should SIDE SHUFFLE (keeping their bodies low to the ground) from the starting line to the other end. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

18. Players should line up on the starting line on their stomachs, heads facing AWAY from the finish line. On the coach's whistle, players should pop up and sprint to the finish line. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

19. Players should line up on the starting line on their stomachs, heads facing TOWARDS from the finish line. On the coach's whistle, players should pop up and sprint to the finish line. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

20. Players should line up on the starting line on their backs, heads facing AWAY from the finish line. On the coach's whistle, players should pop up and sprint to the finish line. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.

21. Players should line up on the starting line on their stomachs, heads facing TOWARDS from the finish line. On the coaches whistle, players should pop up and sprint to the finish line. When all players have reached the other end, allow for a 10-second break, and then repeat back to the starting line. Allow for a 10-second break.
